Stacy Schiff: best selling author and Pulitzer Prize winner
October 13th, 2011
The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Washington DC, in collaboration with the Capitol Archeological Institute at the George Washington University, was delighted to host an evening event with the best selling author and Pulitzer Prize winner Stacy Schiff.
Schiff, interviewed by FOX News Anchor Jim Angle, shared insights and thoughts from her best selling book, “Cleopatra, a Life.” Schiff noted that “passion, politics and power” central to Cleopatra’s life were still relevant in Washington today. There are many lessons relevant even today from Cleopatra’s life and political skills.
The large and diverse crowd reflect the continuing interest in Cleopatra’s life even after 2000 years. Attendees included: Egyptian Ambassador Sameh Shoukry and his wife Susie; Deborah Lehr Chairman of the GWU Capitol Archeological Institute, Ralph Crosby, Chairman of EADS North America and his wife, Mary Grace Crosby; Jim Angle, Fox News Chief Washington Correspondent, and his wife Patrice; Lorne Craner, President of the International Republican Institute and his wife, Anne Craner; Catherine Stevens; Margaret Tutwiler, former Ambassador to Morocco. | |
