President El Sisi and U.S. Vice President Pence Speak by Phone

On Thursday, 24 May, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi spoke with U.S. Vice President Mike Pence by phone.

According to a statement from Egypt’s Office of the Presidency, President El Sisi “affirmed the strategic relations that Egypt and the U.S. share, which are considered one of the pillars for stability in the Middle East.”

Vice President Pence also “expressed his country’s keenness on enhancing and reinforcing the strategic relations with Egypt, given its pivotal role in maintaining security and stability in the Middle East.”

Today, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call from U.S. Vice President Mike Pence.

Mr. Pence expressed his country’s keenness on enhancing and reinforcing the strategic relations with Egypt, given its pivotal role in maintaining security and stability in the Middle East. He valued in this regard Egypt’s role in calming the situation in Gaza.

President El Sisi affirmed the strategic relations that Egypt and the U.S. share, which are considered one of the pillars for stability in the Middle East. The President looked forward to enhancing these relations so as to achieve common interests and restore security in the region. The President also affirmed Egypt’s unyielding position towards the Palestinian issue in support of the Palestinian people’s rights, in line with international resolutions.
