On Monday, 2 April, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi spoke by phone with U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to a statement from Egypt’s Office of the Presidency, President Trump “offered his sincere congratulations for President El Sisi’s success in the presidential elections, wishing Egypt progress and prosperity.”

On the call, President El Sisi “affirmed the special Egyptian-U.S. relations as well as Egypt’s keenness on continuing to strengthen the ongoing strategic cooperation” between the two countries.

President El Sisi Speaks with U.S. President Trump

Today, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call from U.S. President Donald Trump.

President Trump offered his sincere congratulations for President El Sisi’s success in the presidential elections, wishing Egypt progress and prosperity. He expressed the keenness of the U.S. to strengthen its strategic relations with Egypt in addition to continuing coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest.

President El Sisi expressed his appreciation for President Trump. The President affirmed the special Egyptian-U.S. relations as well as Egypt’s keenness on continuing to strengthen the ongoing strategic cooperation in the coming period so as to realize the interests of both peoples.
